Sorry this is late - I was busy all Thursday afternoon and Friday getting the
next issue of WOSNews off to the printer...

At Marymoor on Thursday morning things were pretty quiet early as it was chilly
and dark. But the second half of the walk made up for the first. There were
FIVE of us birding! (My biggest group yet).

Highlights were:

Wood Duck A pair flying around the rowing club ponds
Tree Swallow At least 40 - the most we've seen there this spring
VG Swallow Also quite a few
Barn Swallow Two or three with the VGs
Hermit Thrush A very cooperative bird hopped up the trail before us.
Mountain Bluebird A female in the east meadow for the third straight day
Northern Harrier A beautiful male over the east meadow and the dog area
Lincoln's Sparrow Near the Hermit Thrush
C. Yellowthroat Males and females - perhaps 8-10 in all
Rufous Hummer At least 6, including two females!

We also briefly saw what we thought was a Peregrine Falcon Flying over the pea
patch and east from there. Later, I went back and located a large Merlin near
the climbing rock. I'm not positive however that they were the same bird. So
we may have had both.
