I braved the rain this morning and attempted to locate the Solitary
Sandpiper at the Montlake Fill, alas without success. There was a mix of
Western and Least Sandpipers and Greater Yellowlegs present, along with a
mix of the usual suspects at the Fill.
By the way, the is a common backyard bird I have heard in the past week with
an emphatic "tu-tu-tu" song, not unlike the alarm call of the Yellowlegs. So
far it has eluded my attempts at a visual ID, any ideas what it may be?
