Hi,
We had the opportunity to bird Costa Rica in March of 1997. Six of
us rented a van and drove all over the country. We were able to find
nice, inexpensive motels wherever night found us. Many were a bit
primitive but clean.
The total of birds found by us for our personal list was 376
species, we missed a few that others in our group saw. It made 157
lifers for us. We don't think you could do a much better month than
March. Migration is in full swing and the local birds seem to really
be out.
We spent 21 days and drove 3,300 kilometers. It was a great
birding experience! Larry and Jacque Goodhew from Walla Walla
