Deborah:

As you may already know, San Diego County ranks number 1 among all
counties of the U.S. in numbers of species!

But did you know it's my home town? No, of course not. So let me tell
you what I think are some of the best spots to do some birding (in no
particular order):

1. San Elijo Lagoon (north county)
2. Point Loma (a great spring and fall migrant trap)
3. Tijuana River Valley & Estuary (THE spot!)
4. Lake Hodges/San Pasqual Valley (varied habitat)
5. Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary (Audubon's place)
6. Lake Cuyamaca, Paso Picacho Campground & Mt. Cuyamaca (mountain
species)
7. Anza-Borrego Desert Visitor's Center (desert species -- quite a few
of the species on your list (most?) will be found here; I hope you
didn't think that ALL of SD was a desert!).

This is my "short" list; there's many other places -- San Diego is a big
place. Maybe if you knew and could tell me exactly where you will be
speaking, I can give you a more efficient list.
