Sightings for Sunday, April 25

A WHITE-TAILED KITE was seen in overflight in Aldergrove today. The VHNS
field trip to Debouville Slough in Coquitlam produced the spring arrival
VAUX SWIFTS, a GREEN HERON, 7 OSPREY, a MERLIN and 6 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES.
A PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER was at Minnekada Park.

A pond at the south end of Bains rd in Pitt Meadows had the spring arrival
SOLITARY SANDPIPER. A PEREGRINE FALCON, a BAND-TAILED PIGEON and several
HERMIT THRUSHES were at QE Park. The top parking lot at Cypress Park had a
GREY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH, a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE and BLUE GROUSE booming in
the distance.

Up to 7 WHIMBREL and 11 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were at the foot of
Gilbert Rd in Richmond. A TURKEY VULTURE was south of the Steveston
highway on Gilbert Rd. Colony Farm had 20 VAUX SWIFTS. Iona had 6
BONAPARTE'S GULLS and 2 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS. A HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER
and a PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER were at Cecil Green Park, UBC.

In a late report for Friday, the spring arrival HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER was
seen at QE Park.

Sightings for Saturday, April 24

The CASSIN'S AUKLET was in its usual location at Canada Place. The ROSS'S
GOOSE was at Colony Farm, west of the Coquitlam River between the Forensic
Institute and the Mary Hill Bypass. An AMERICAN DIPPER was near the
spillway of the Capilano Dam and 4 CRESTED MYNAHS were at 1st and Wylie in
Vancouver.

Eight WHIMBREL and 11 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were near the foot of
Gilbert in Richmond. Iona had 17 RING-NECKED DUCKS and a PEREGRINE FALCON.
Another PEREGRINE and 6 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS were in the old Cora Brown
subdivision on Sea Island. A GREAT HORNED OWL was at Beach Grove in
Tsawwassen.

In a late report for Friday, a GREY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH was in a bare patch
of dirt next to the snowboard rental shop at Cypress Park.

Sightings for Friday, April 23

The CASSIN'S AUKLET was at Canada Place and an AMERICAN KESTREL was at
MacDonald Beach on Sea Island. A TURKEY VULTURE and an OSPREY were NW of
the Lougheed Mall in Burnaby.

In a late report for Thursday, the first PURPLE MARTIN of the northbound
migration was reported from Rocky Point in Port Moody.
