Sightings for Thursday, April 29
Rare bird Alert for a BLACK-NECKED STILT. The bird spent the whole day on
the SW pond at Iona. It is frequenting the SE corner of the pond. This
only the fifth record for the VNHS checklist area.

WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were at the stone bridge in Stanley Park and at
Harris Road near the Alouette River in Pitt Meadows. Two TURKEY VULTURES
were seen near Blenheim and West King Edward in Vancouver. Good views of
PURPLE MARTINS can be had at Rocky Point in Port Moody.

Reifel had 2000 PACIFIC LOONS offshore, 48 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and
200 SNOW GEESE. Thirty RHINOCEROS AUKLETS and the spring arrival COMMON
TERNS were at Point Roberts.

YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were reported from Burnaby Lake

In late reports for Wednesday, the BLACK-NECKED STILT was on the SW pond at
Iona and a CLARK'S GREBE was about a third of the way along the south
jetty. Four GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were on the causeway. A HARRIS'
SPARROW is still occasionally visiting a feeder at 2564 West 12 Avenue in
Vancouver

Sightings for Wednesday, April 28

The CASSIN'S AUKLET was seen for the first time since Saturday in its usual
location between Canada Place and the Seabus Terminal. Two AMERICAN
DIPPERS were in the NW corner of Coquitlam Park.

Sightings for Tuesday, April 27

Three CRESTED MYNAHS were at Columbia and First Avenue in Vancouver. Two
PEREGRINE FALCONS and an OLDSQUAW were at Blackie Spit.

In a late report for Saturday, a PILEATED WOODPECKER was at Wallace and
King Edward in Vancouver.
