Thanks to Michelle for this thoughtful and nicely drawn
post on this subject of Birding Ethics.


I recall a while back that someone located a pair of nesting
goshawks in the Olympics somewhere around Sequim and posted
to the list asking advice about giving out directions to
those interested in seeing the birds. We all pretty much
replied with the same general message -- DON'T tell anyone
where the nest is.. and that person thanked the list and
decided not to share the location.

Now, much as I would crawl on my hands and knees through
broken glass for the rare privilege of observing nesting
Goshawks, I was pleased to see the List "did the right
thing" and didn't push it and encouraged that birder
to not divulge the location of those magnificent birds.

that was the right thing to do..
