Hello Tweeters!

Well, I finally got to see the Clark's Nutcrackers! I led a hike up to
Glacier Basin in Mt. Rainier National Park. And Clark was there to share
our lunches! He perched on low branches inches from our faces and our
food and watched, and waited. In short time Clark was feasting upon
dropped grapes, some granola "accidentaly" left behind, and from my lunch
sack some bites of an East Indian curried chick pea and rice wrap
sandwich tossed in his direction. Clark was polite. He made no attempts
to steal, but he did probe his nosey beak into a couple of packs.

A couple of chipmunks scurried about, but made no attempts to beg or
steal. Out in the meadow not far from our picnic area marmots rompped
and tumbled about......oh so cute! On our way back down we spied several
creeks hopping with Cascade Frogs. At one point a skink slinked quickly
from under one rock to another. Back at the White River parking lot
Clark's squawked and zoomed above the cars.

And from this all-American girl's perspective the "lean-mean climbing
machines" with their tanned, buff bodies were a nice additional sight to
see. Those mountain climbing guys don't have an ounce of fat on them!

We didn't see any UFOs.......Unidentified Furry Objects.

But the sky was blue and the clouds were minimal and cotton ball fluffy.
