The Sunday Bird Walk, August 1/99.
The walk today went to MacGregor marsh located at the top of the hill on =
Rutherford road in Nanaimo B.C.. Temperature was about 20 degrees celsius=
and sunny.
30 species were seen and heard on the walk:
great blue heron
wood duck
turkey vulture
bald eagle
California quail
rufous hummingbird
pileated woodpecker
northern flicker
pacific-slope flycatcher
willow flycatcher
common raven
northwestern crow
chestnut-back chickadee
red-breasted nuthatch
bushtit
bewicks wren
American robin
swainson=92s thrush
cedar waxwing
orange-crowned warbler
wilson warbler
red-winged blackbird
white-crowned sparrow
chipping sparrow
spotted towhee
black-headed grosbeak
house finch
purple finch
American goldfinch
pine siskin
