1 week ago, as I was packing up for a vacation, a male and femal red
crossbill landed on and fed on my sunflower seed suet block. My wife said
they returned again the next day. My suet and all other food have been
depleted since then so I doubt they are around anymore. This is the first
sighting of crossbills in my yard in Bellevue (Enatai neighborhood), and
also the first time I ever saw a crossbill. Hooray! I have not been keeping
up with this list so I do not know if crossbills have been common in this
area this year.
