This afternoon while driving Route 3 between Silverdale and Chico, I saw
over two dozen common nighthawks flying about hawking insects. It seemed
a little unusual, as I haven't seen them there before, and in the early
afternoon. Are they migrating, or could these be recent fledglings from
nest sites over here in Kitsap?
