Subject: Shi Shi beach report (belated)

I have seen this Black Swift nest at the Santa Cruz Lighthouse. It has to be
one of the more famous bird nests that I know about since it was first
mentioned (as far as I know) in Ralph Hoffmann's Birds of the Pacific States,
which dates back to 1930. I would bet that if we looked in A.C. Bent's Life
Histories of North American Birds we would find references to this same nest.
(I'm at work so I can't check. It's tempting to have an extra set of Bent at
work so I can check stuff like this as it comes up, but it might make my boss
nervous.)
