Spent a few days at Curlew Lake in Ferry County,
WA last week. There were three Osprey and one
bald eagle patrolling the lake each day. One day a
red-necked grebe caught and tried valiantly to
swallow a large bass (maybe 2 pounds). After a
several minute struggle she finally had to admit
she couldn't get her mouth open wide enough to get
the fish in. This was probably wise as fish was
much to large for her throat.
