Actually, it can execute. The VBS extension indicates it is a Visual Basic
Script. It attaches itself to every email address in the Outlook directory.
Shouldn't be a problem if you don't use Outlook as your mailer.

Also, a reminder. Be very careful about opening attachments, even from
people you trust. Many viruses are sent by people who aren't aware they send
them (example, Happy99.exe). The safest thing to do is delete all
attachments, but this is a little paranoid for my tastes. Another approach
is to right click on attachments, when given the option, save them to a
floppy then run your anti-virus program against the program. Another thing
you might do is contact the person and asked them if they intended to send
you an attachment.

The most important thing is to be informed. Another good site to search for
information on viruses (shouldn't it be vira?) is:

Finally, if you don't have an anti-virus program, the following site is a
