Dear Tweets, Yesterday I walked all around the Fill for the first time in
several weeks. My family and I have struggled all summer giving hospice
care to my father, who died on Sunday.
I want to thank all those who have pulled loosestrife to keep the ponds
open for fall migration. We have not done our share this year, but it was
immensely satisfying to see that others took up where we could not.
Enough ground has been kept clear around the ponds' perimeter to attract 3
dowitchers. 7 westerns, a semipalmated and a spotty. Seeing these wondrous
creatures feeding on their way south gave me a much-needed sense of the
beauty of the world, and our place in it. Thank you. - Connie
