The last time I looked, professional climatologists are arguing over
the MAGNITUDE of the anthropogenic component of global warming, but
that there is no serious debate over the existence of such a component,
nor over the fact that the magnitude's been increasing.

Even Fred Singer, long-time paid shill for the energy industry, has
changed his tune. He no longer claims that global warming's a hoax,
or that it isn't in any way anthropogenically forced, but rather
he now argues that 1) it will fall in the lower range of estimates
and 2) it will be good for us and we should welcome the change.

Don't mistake debate in the Usenet groups for being representative
of the debate among professionals.
