A couple of quick notes:

First, thanks to the 60+ folks who have registered with
the site...

Some folks have noticed that http://donb.photo.net has not
been responding the past two-three days. MIT (who hosts
the site) has been doing a major reshuffling of their
network and my site (and others on the same server) were
shuffled off the edge of the internet, apparently. It's
back, now. The database server on which the bird database
server lives was reachable directly at http://216.65.147.68,
as it sits under my dining room table here in Portland.

It was suggested by one person who's entered count data
that it would be handy to have a second "submit" button
at the bottom of the data entry page, so you don't have to
remember to scroll to the top of the page. Sounded like
a good idea, so I've done so.

Another person keeps his field notes in alphabetical,
rather than taxonomic, order so requested that I optionally
generate the entry form in alphabetical order.

That, too, has been done.

I haven't yet implemented the entry of undated "life lists"
(as opposed to dated lists from particular trips in the
field), but hope to do so soon.

Suggestions for changes are more than welcome, indeed the
whole point of this project is to incorporate suggestions,
as well as data, from all its users (a couple of folks
have offered "geek help", I hope this note makes them
cringe! :)

I've found free GIS map server software, so in the future
(probably some months in the future) we can look forward
to putting out all sorts of cool maps incorporating bird
data entered into the site...
