Hi all-
I received a response to my Shorebirds message which highlighted a
miscommunication that might be present. We are no, sadly, not in the
field but in the lab, and have been since the 10th of Aug. We ran out of
money. Thus, I do not have any data or species observations past those
dates. However, I urge anyone to head out onto the flats near Bay Center
at low tide (better make that ebb tide; I almost got stranded/really wet
out there on a flood tide...) and report back. It seemed as though
numbers were actually dwindling, and we weren't seeing much on the flats
the last few days, but I have a feeling that was just a lull. We were
seeing flocks of 200-500 WESP/SemiPal Plover jst as the tide began
receding, up[ near the beach. Maybe you'd find a vagrant...?
