On Sat., while my wife was picking blueberries at Larsen Lake she noticed a
number of European Starlings in a wire cage near the blueberry patch. I went
there this morning on my walk in the Lake Hills Greenbelt.

The cage is just south of the large blueberry patch at the south end of
Larsen L.. When I first saw it from the sidewalk on the south side I also saw
a Cooper's Hawk perched in a tree about 50 yds SE of the cage. I walked
around by the blueberry patch for a better look. There was a sign on the wire
cage which had about 10 EUSTs in it. The sign said "Starling Control Cage"
and at the bottom it had "U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Animal Damage Control".
The Cooper's Hawk stayed there all the time continually watching the
starlings in the cage. It was still there when I left the area 30 minutes
later.
