Tonight I got the bug to head down to the Auburn/Kent Valley to find Barn
Owls. I began in a huge field where I've had great success many times in the
past. No Luck!! So I moved on to another large weedy field where I waited
and watched, waited and watched some more. I swear when I go looking for
Barn Owls, the pupils in my eyes become the size of quarters. Anyways, I
wasn't having much luck in this field and it seemed perfect for Barns' so I
mimicked the sound of a rodent (i'm good at that). Finally, an owl came in
to investigate. It circled right over my head, landed on some old piece of
farming equipment, snapped it's head around, then silently took off as quick
as it arrived. Pretty cool. I then checked out a perfect old road near some
werehouse where another Barn Owl flew along with my truck for a good 20
seconds before veering out of sight. So that was it.......two Barn Owls in
about 1 hour searching. I couldn't get any photographs, though, cuz I
couldn't get them to stay still. Oh well, nice night anyways. Bryan
