Tweeters,

Monday early evening, 16 August, I birded some shorebird sites in the
Columbia Basin. At the saline ponds on Hwy 26 west of Othello .5 mile west
of the Grant/Adams County line, there were:

Killdeer-5
Lesser Yellowlegs-5
Spotted Sandpiper-1
Semipalmated Sandiper-2
Western Sandpiper-25
Least Sandpiper-15
Baird's Sandpiper-2
Wilson's Phalarope-5
Red-necked Phalarope-10

At Lind Coulee on the eastern end of Potholes Reservoir, I noted:

Killdeer-15
Lesser Yellowlegs-10
Western Sandpiper-50+
"peep" sp.- 200, probably mostly Westerns
Least Sandpiper-10
Stilt Sandpiper-3
Long-billed Dowitcher-25

I wanted to hit the Potholes Rookery area proper before dark, but I ran out
of time.
