Hello Tweeters,
I have to share this with all. I this recieved my latest Issue of
"WASHINGTON BIRDER" And it is extremly well done.Front page an article by
our old time Birder Bob Norton described birding in Clallam County all the
areas where to find good birds.Clallam County is mostly the highest count
on species seeing on the Christmas Birdcount. Well done Bob and thank you.
After we found the rare Skylark first ever sighting on main land i birded
there quite often and manage to get a exellent photo of the first countys
Snowy Egret where i donated a photo to the Jamestown Klallam Tribal
Headquarters. All what i have to find now County records of
Dragonflies.Eugene Kridler onother verry experienced old time birder was so
kind to sent me many hard to find ponds in this County. It;s getting late
in the season for many species of Dragonflies, but an early start next year
is in order.
Next good sightings including the first
of this years White-tailed Pharmigan (male) with photos by Patrick Sullivan
which is my Son includindg the rare to find Boreal Owl which was flying
direct over my shoulder last fall . How good can birding get to get that
close to an Owl, there also followed in to the parking lot.
Than the many sightings all listed of SABIN'S GULL'S all in eastern
Washington. First Record in September 23th 1969 and in 1998 there where 16
sightings.(some sightings are from different Birders) I feel real bad now
don't even have this Bird on my list.I can say " WASHINGTON BIRDER" made a
successful
recover . Thank you Ken Knittle for doing such an outstanding Job putting
this all together and all the good Birders what contribute to this issue.
