Greg and tweeters,

Hello! Just want to report that there is a pair of Egyptian Geese
hanging out at John Wayne Marina in Sequim Bay. They were first spotted
by local RV folks about 8/13, still present tonight, 8/22. They are at
the south end of the marina, near where Johnson Creek dumps into Sequim
Bay (the gull roost site).

Do you know if Egyptian Geese are kept by any local waterfowl fanciers or
breeders? Any reported escapees? I called Arnold Shouten, a local
waterfowl breeder, but haven't heaerd back yet. These birds have no
bands and they have flown several hundred feet when disturbed, so their
wings aren't clipped. Any ideas about their origin?

Thanks,

Bob Boekelheide
