Dear Birders,

The attached message from Robert Worona should be of interest to
many of you. Apex Mountain is just west of Penticton, B.C. The
altitude here is over 6000 feet, but as noted in previous postings,
there have been some recent sightings of Bohemian Waxwing in southern
BC and WA at lower altitudes. The Bohemians are definitely on the move
early this year!
Chris and Chris, it looks like Robert beat you guys by 12 days in
recording the first August sighting of Bohemian Waxwings in the
Okanagan Valley.

In regards to your August 20 response to Bohemian Waxwings in the
Okanagan:
On August 1, 1999 I was hiking Apex and Beaconsfield Mountains. At
Apex, I saw a flock of 60 Bohemian Waxwings, all adults.
