The hobby of birding has made great strides in the past 50 years,a fact
which may not be appreciated by the younger members of society. Peterson
was the only widely available field guide. Disposable income and
available time have increased. Modern travel by auto and air has vastly
expanded the field for bird trips. Means of communication have grown and
costs have shrunk corres- pondly. Previously communications were by
word of mouth or by telephone. There were no hot lines and when those
began they were often a toll call away. People talked in a more personal
kindly way. We seem to be losing that.
There are things on tweeters which may not be of interest to you,
but they are important to others. Learn a rapid means of discarding.
Spend your time on what interests you. If a message seems rude
ignore it. If you must respond, do so off the net. Those who become
upset at the owner and leave are only cutting off their
nose to spite their face. There is lots to learn on Tweeters. Count
your blessings. Things might be worse in 2049. stan
