We have 60 or so phalaropes. Question, do these birds mingle, can we be
seeing Red-necked and Wilson's in same group? Also, a couple of perhaps
Greater Yellow-legs since the "not so sure which" sandpiper is so small
next to it. We sure can' t be certain which birds we are looking at.
Think, Western Sandpipers, Greater Yellow-legs and two kinds of
Phalaropes but maybe only Red-necked. These birds have been in the two
ponds on either side of the Lamont Sprague road just south of Sprague for
the last two days. After tonight's birding we are not surer of what we
have. Any thoughts? Marilynn and Mary C.
