I have no snake expertise, but I do have a snake book-- Reptiles of
Washington and Oregon published by Seattle Audubon Society. It says there
are 3 different species of garter snakes in the Puget Sound area, the
Western Terrestrial Garter Snake, the Northwestern Garter Snake, and the
Common Garter Snake. The latter 2 can have blue stripes.
