the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR

Weather: mostly cloudy
Wind SW 10-15; Temp 60F


Method: 60 minute station count at 100m west of "3 rocks" on
SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: A run of small fish very near shore brought most species seen
today very close many of the COMMON MURRES are still tending chicks.
SOOTY SHEARWATERS were also very close in. There did not appear to
be any movement of birds beyond those feeding in close.
