Roger Olstad and I were attending a meeting at Friday Harbor this weekend
and saw a turkey vulture over the UW marine biology laboratory complex. We
did not see anything else other than lots of glaucous gulls, starlings, bald
eagles, a northern harrier, ared tailed hawk, a northern flicker and a tern
that was too far away to identify. We puzzled by the lack of ducks.
Usually there are lots of birds on the water this time year. Any ideas?
