Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday December 2. If you have anything to add call

On November 26 a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was reported from Powell Butte
Park near Gresham. It could not be relocated.

The MOUNTAIN PLOVER on the beach near the Dunes Overlook, south of
Florence, continues to be seen.

A possible KAMCHATKA MEW GULL was seen November 25 in a MEW GULL flock at
Westmoreland Park in southeast Portland. It could not be relocated.

Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay continues to provide sightings of
CLAY-COLORED, SWAMP, WHITE-THROATED, and the more regular sparrows.

A RED KNOT was at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay November 25. A CATTLE
EGRET was at the Lincoln County fairgrounds in Newport November 28.

Two OLDSQUAWS are now at the Cove at the south end of Seaside. Three
KITTIWAKES, a HEERMANN'S GULL, and a very wet CLIFF SWALLOW were at the
Hammond boat basin November 25. A RUDDY TURNSTONE was there November 27.
A YELLOWTHROAT was near Astoria November 28. and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS
were there and at Warrenton the same day. On November 28 a ROCK SANDPIPER
was with SURFBIRDS, and BLACK TURNSTONES on the South Jetty of the
Columbia River. At least one LAPLAND LONGSPUR is still in the jetty area.

COMMON REDPOLLS are now arriving in Oregon. One was at Black Butte Ranch
near Sisters November 27. The next day 8 were seen there. Three were at
Irrigon in northeast Oregon November 28, and on November 27 one was at
Powell Butte Park near Gresham. PINE SISKINS are now moving into the
lowlands. Check them for any red capped birds.

On November 28 a late SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was at Swartz Lake in the
River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR along with 17 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER. Up to
17 GREAT EGRETS are also on the refuge. A GLAUCOUS GULL was in Vancouver
November 24.

A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove
November 27. Both BARROW'S and COMMON GOLDENEYES are now in the Forest
Grove area, and CINNAMON TEAL are at the Wetlands and at Jackson Bottom
near Hillsboro.

A BAND-TAILED PIGEON was in Sisters November 26.
