Went over to the Moses Lake area today to scout for Sunday's SAS FT. The best
highlight had to be a GRYFALCON at the entrance to Potholes St. Park. I only
got enough of a look to confirm to species before a raven chased it off to
the NW, so I have no idea as to phase though it looked gray-phase. Other
interesting tidbits were this made a 3 falcon day with 1 PRAIRE FALCON along
Lower-crab creek. There was at least one HERMIT THRUSH in the russian olives
along L. Crab Creek. Had 3 COMMON REDPOLLS with a flock of Siskins just north
of Moses Lake St. Park. At the St. Park I had one SLATE-COLORED JUNCO and a
dark-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK. Amazingly I did not have a tree sparrow all day
though I had hundreds of crowned sparrows. Not really of note but I had at
least 3 seperate flocks of HORNED LARKS. The average flock size was 30-35.
