Hello tweeters,
Since i got my photos back of this bright and colourful male Chestnut
-colared Longspur and compare the plumage of the bird what was sighted on
Dezember 1995 at Montlake Fill, i come to the conclusion that this bird
here is still partly in breeding Plumage. Showing the bright chestnut
colour around his neck.As the other bird only showed a faint chestnut wash
to the nape barly visible.Infact the bird at the Fill was quite drab
looking and most birders saying it was a female.But the examen by an expert
birder (examen in hand) it was decided , it was a male.Also this bird on
Bowerman Basin got the extreme white patch on shouder.
I will make this photos of this most flashy bird available as soon as next
week.
The Chestnut-collared Longspur was as heared , sighted on Thursday all day
despite the bad weather and strong winds on the coast.
