Sightings for Friday, December 3

Although a search behind the UBC Museum of Anthropology did not relocate
the SCARLET TANAGER it did produce 3 COMMON REDPOLL and near by at the
trail head for Tower Beach off SW Marine Dr. was an adult NORTHERN GOSHAWK.

Another 6 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen on Sea Island's Grauer Rd. just east of
MacDonald.

Thursday, December 2

A tan morph WHITE-THROATED SPARROW has been frequenting a feeder in 48800
block of Elkview Rd. in Chilliwack.

The WILLET has again been relocated, this time at the base of the Robert's
Bank Jetty.

Wednesday, December 1

A bird which is thought to have been a SCARLET TANAGER was seen behind the
UBC Museum of Anthropology.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Tamboline & Westham Island Rd.

Reported from the Reifel Refuge were NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL, 2 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT HERON, a EURASIAN WIGEON and a SWAMP SPARROW near the observation
tower.

A PEREGRINE was observed at the foot of the Robert's Bank Jetty.

Two BARN OWLS were reported from Sea Island near MacDonald Beach.

A male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was seen frequenting a feeder in the Eagle
Harbour area of West Vancouver.

Monday, November 29

The 4 CATTLE EGRETS were present near the intersection of Tamboline &
Westham Isl. Rd. Close by along Westham Isl. Rd. was a NORTHERN SHRIKE.
The immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen again at the Reifel Refuge.

At the Maplewood Refuge in North Vancouver came the report of a GREAT
HORNED OWL.

A male TUFTED DUCK was seen on the outer pond at Iona. East along the dike
from the Macdonald Beach parking area on Sea Island was a COMMON REDPOLL in
a flock of approx. 150 PINE SISKINS.

Sunday, November 28

The 4 CATTLE EGRET were observed near the intersection of Tamboline and
Westham Island Rds.

Reported from Reifel were a NORTHERN GOSHAWK, a GREAT HORNED OWL, a
CINNAMON TEAL, and near the observation tower a SWAMP SPARROW.

Seen in a small thicket of woods a short distance from the end of River Rd.
at Brunswick Point were a very late YELLOW WARBLER, an AMERICAN TREE
SPARROW, and 3 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS. Also reported from a VNHS Outing at
Brunswick Point were 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS, 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, and An
AMERICAN BITTERN.

A PRAIRIE FALCON was observed in a tree near the end of 34th St. in Delta..

A COMMON REDPOLL was seen and heard at the Cora Brown area of Sea Island.
