Northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, Dec 3 (1999). This hotline,

Apparently 2 BLACK AND WHITE WARBLERS were one-day wonders on the same day
at Two Rivers Co Park in Benton Co WA this past week, according to Dennis
Rockwell. One was a male, the other a female. The park is east of Kennewick
near the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers. WA DeLorme 39, C-8.

An immature CATTLE EGRET was in a pasture along Hess Road at Whitstran in
Benton Co WA, about 4 miles east of Prosser on the north side of the Yakima
River, on Nov 25 according to Chris Johnson. WA DeLorme 38, C-3.

At least 1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and an immature HARRIS'S SPARROW were at
Madame Dorianne Park just north of the jct of US 12 and US 730 in western
Walla Walla Co WA on Dec 1 according to Jim Acton and Warren Hall. The
white-throateds have been around for about a month. Mike and MerryLynn
Denny toss bird seed on the old road south of the bathroom. Use your car as
a blind and the birds hop out and feed. WA DeLorme 40, D-1.

A female OLDSQUAW was at Hayden Lake, Kootenai Co ID on Nov 25 according to
Lisa Hardy. Stephen Lindsay found the bird again on Nov 28. The bird was
right where it was suppose to be according to the Birder's Guide to Idaho p
43 and 44. To get there from Coeur d'Alene, head north on US 95 to milepost
434.3 and turn east on Honeysuckle. Follow it to Lower Hayden Lake Road and
follow Lower Hayden to Tobler Marina. A female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was
also on the lake on Nov 28. ID DeLorme 60, AB-1.5.

Two RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were also seen at the City Beach in Sandpoint,
Bonner Co ID, last weekend by Lisa Hardy.

A single GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was below Lower Granite Dam on the Snake
River on Dec 3 according to Mike Denny. Lower Granite is about 10 miles
southwest of Pullman, Whitman Co, WA the way the gull flies. From Pullman,
follow the signs to Boyer Park. Mike also saw about 15 GRAY-CROWNED
ROSY-FINCHES going to roost in Cliff Swallow nests on the cliff near the
juvie fish catchment facility by the dam. There's a nice wide pullout. WA
DeLorme 57, C-5.

Another GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was reported near Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake Coeur
d'Alene, Kootenai Co, ID. It's been around a week according to Stephen
Lindsay. Wolf Lodge Bay is at I-90 exit 22 east of Coeur d'Alene. Check
your Birder's Guide to Idaho p 51. ID DeLorme 60, B-2.

The BLUE JAY persisting in Spokane, Spokane Co. WA in and around 1106 East
17th Street, between Arthur and Southeast Blvd and first reported by David
Heath was seen on Nov 23 by Warren Hall and Jim Acton.

Of note to Moscow, Latah Co ID, birders, Charles Swift found a MARSH WREN
on Nov 28 in the artificial wetlands between the Moscow sewage treatment
plant and the state line, north of Paradise Creek.
