Today was a good day for hawking around my house. I was
siting on a chair watching Indiana Jones and saw a flash of
bird go between two houses, it came back out and it was a
very nice looking male sharpy. He sat for a while and then
he flew between two emerald greens with a gap of only a foot
or so and disappeared over the fence. After that the wind
picked up and the redtails came out to play in the wind and
the (I'm thinking) same male sharpy came out to harass/play
with the redtail. (Two that is) As I was leaving to go back
down stairs a melrin was eating a passerine in mid-air.

-the merlin if it was the same one has established his
hunting territory for the winter.

- the sharpy is new, the redtails maybe, they could have
been the fledgelings of the pair nesting near my house, or
could have been the adults.

-the only accipiters I get are a pair of coops who nest in the forest.
(and the babies)
