Before considering travel to any location with which you are not familiar I
would suggest visiting the US State Departments web site for travel and
consular advise. It can be found at:

I wrote privately to Marissa about Jamaica (simply too dangerous to visit in
my opinion, I was assaulted and robbed there even though I was with an
escorted group). You'd be surprised at the difference between travel
brochures and realities, particularly in countries in the Americas, SE Asia,
and Africa. Have fun and enjoy the birds but be careful and be prepared!!
