Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday December 9. If you have anything to add call

The MOUNTAIN PLOVER on the beach near the Dunes Overlook south of
Florence continues to be seen.

A BLUE JAY is now coming to a feeder in Twickenham, on the John Day River
in Wheeler County.

A MOCKINGBIRD is coming to a feeder in Langlois, south of Bandon. Another
is on the North Spit of Coos Bay.

Two OSPREY and 26 MARBLED GODWITS are apparently wintering at Coos Bay.
Six BROWN PELICANS were at Charleston December 5.

Seven BROWN PELICANS, 3 probable RED PHALAROPES, and a FORK-TAILED
STORM-PETREL were off Boiler Bay December 2. A FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL
was off the mouth of the D River in Lincoln City December 6.

Five SNOW GEESE are now at Tillamook Bay. A PALM WARBLER was in Gearhart,
and a male OLDSQUAW was on the Warrenton Sewage Ponds December 6. A
noticeable movement of HERRING and THAYER'S GULLS arrived on the coast
during the week.

Large numbers of TUNDRA SWANS moved into the Willamette Valley during the
week. On December 5 a ROSS'S GOOSE, a CATTLE EGRET, and 41 GREAT EGRETS
were at Scappoose Bottoms. Three SHORT-EARED OWLS were there December 6.

A pair of COMMON GOLDENEYES were at Oaks Bottom in Portland November 28.
Both COMMON and BARROW'S GOLDENEYES are still in the Forest Grove area.
An immature GOSHAWK was at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro December 7.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was in Eugene December 8. Two TREE SWALLOWS were in
Eugene December 6. A WHITE PELICAN and 16 GREAT EGRETS were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir December 1.

A BAND-TAILED PIGEON was at Black Butte Ranch near Sisters December 1.
COMMON REDPOLLS continue to be seen there. Three REDPOLLS were in LaPine
December 6, and a flock of 25 was at Detroit Flats, in the Cascades east
of Salem December 3.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was at Mayville, south of Condon December 4.
