Hello Tweeters
It is almost a tradition to get the LITTLE GULL on the Christmas
Birdcount. It been least since 1989 that this Little Gull been reported to
AMERICAN BIRDS.
i been going there almost every week since early November, but you dont even
have to look verry long to find out if the bird is there. When there are no
large amount of Boneparte's Gull beeing around the bird is not
there.Patrick and i went last weekend and there was only 5 Boneparte's
Gulls around.
Today i counted 32 Boneparte's Gulls, but the problem was there was not
flying. On the water one can not tell them apart even so there is much
different in size. The Gulls are usual in the middle of the Lake.
I had to waite quite long time before some starting to fly, only a short
way, where other times there are flying up and down constantly. So it is
verry easy for me seeing this bird so many times in flight to pick it out
immediately by flying you can realy see the black underwings. So it is
almost a sure think to get this bird again on the Tacoma Christmas
Birdcount. I wonder is it the same bird what comes to the same place, i am
almost sure because it is always an Adult in Winter plumage.
