I can't help myself but to say that, for me, the irony here is that someone
who appreciates birds would evoke the "City of Kent" as the potential
protectorate of the birds being sought by the hunter when it is the City
of Kent, among other municipalities, that has reduced an incredibly large
and diverse wetland community in the floodplain of the Green River to
mostly roads, parking lots, and warehouses. What little wetlands remain
do support good numbers of waterfowl but these pale in comparison to former
times. The hunter extracts birds but leaves the habitat to support future
generations. The warehouses simply eliminate them for all time.
