The Rare bird alert continues for a HOODED WARBLER.

Sightings for Monday, December 13
The HOODED WARBLER was relocated this morning near the Gibsons-Sechelt
Airfield. The bird has been identified as an adult female. The bird is a
skulker and difficult to find. It is best to arrive as early as possible
in the morning and listen for its call. The bird was seen till about 10:30
this morning. . To locate this bird follow Hwy 101 from Gibsons to Field
Rd. Turn right and travel north till the road turns to the left. A dirt
road continues north from this point. The bird was seen opposite a debris
pile approx. ? km along this dirt road.
Sunday, December 12
A HOODED WARBLER was located near the Gibsons-Sechelt Airfield.
The PALM WARBLER was seen on the Sea Island dike near the end of the old
Shannon Road which is west of MacDonald Beach. Also seen at this location
were, 2 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, an AMERICAN BITTERN, and 23 LINCOLN'S
SPARROWS.
Beach Grove Park in Tsawwassen was the location for 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS. A
LONG-EARED OWL was seen on 72nd St. and at the dike at 72nd were 3
SHORT-EARED OWLS.
A BARRED OWL was reported from Deer Lake Park in Burnaby.
Four CRESTED MYNAS were seen on 2nd Ave. a block east of the Cambie St.
Bridge.
Saturday, December 11
A PALM WARBLER was discovered along the dike west of MacDonald Beach. In
the Cora Brown area was a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT found north of Grauer Rd.
A CATTLE EGRET was seen with sheep in a field SW of the intersection of
Tamboline & Westham Is. Rd. The bird is best seen from Tamboline Rd. Not
far away was the PRAIRIE FALCON at the foot of 34th St. in Delta.
Two ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to a feeder in the Eagle Harbour area of
West Vancouver.
Friday, December 10
Two PEREGRINE FALCONS were reported from 2 different locations, 1 from the
Patullo Bridge and the other near the intersection of Royal Oak & the
Kingsway.
Wednesday, December 8
A MERLIN was seen near the intersection of Scott Rd. & #10 Hwy.
Tuesday, December 7
A single CATTLE EGRET was seen at Tamboline and Westham Isl. Rd.
From Colony Farm came the report of a MERLIN and a NORTHERN SHRIKE.
