I hope people don't think I'm being too picky or technical here, but the
locations mentioned and visited by Michael Hobbs et. al I would consider to
be a part of central Washington, not eastern Washington (unless you want to
consider everything in the eastern half of the state or everything east of
the Cascades to be eastern Washington). I just wanted to point this out
because there are a whole 2 more tiers of counties to the east with some
great potential for birds but very few birders (except for the
Tri-cities/Walla Walla area which has some really active good birders!).
Admittedly it is a long drive from the Puget sound area, and a lot of
driving to cover the area, but it does have potential.
