Couldn't agree more. People can get involved, not be
afraid to speak up, educate your kids and other
peoples' kids, and not let the politicians get away
with selling our legacy to greedy developers. Some
things you can't put a price on... "priceless" does
NOT mean "worthless". Yet that is how habitat and
green natural areas are so often treated by those
who's narrowmindedness sees only the green of money
when they look at an "undeveloped" area. Why can't
people see that Nature also "develops" a piece of land
just fine, if left alone? The problem with "those
people" is that that sort of development, which
benefits ALL of the living creatures around and in it,
doesn't put money into a few individual's pockets.

When money becomes the single most important factor in
making decisions, much of "true" value becomes
trampled over in the rush for the bucks. Too bad.

Sorry, but this is a really sore point for someone who
also was born and raised here and remembers this area
when there wasn't already a smog line across the
Olympics by 10 a.m. of the first morning of an
inversion (clear, dry weather). Before the Puget
Sound area starting making the "Best Places to Live"
list, it used to take 5 days or more.
