In weather that came no where near matching the
claims of the National Weather Service, we have
a tentative 113 species about 7 below average.

Shorebird numbers were disappointing and gulls
that were around yesterday could not be found today.

Best birds include a PALM WARBLER at Clover Lane
near the Lewis and Clark River. At least 7 ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS, 3 SWAMP SPARROWS. Count week birds include
a disappearing EMPEROR GOOSE, a MARBLED MURRELET in
the east mooring basin at Astoria, and a surprise LONG-EARED
OWL between parking lots c and d, Ft Stevens.
