While at lunch today I decided to check out some grass and wetlands adjacent
to my office.

I tried the "pishing" trick to lure out sparrows and other small tweeties.
In only a moment or two a SAVANAH SPARROW popped up and stretched it's
little neck way, way up and then gazed right at me! I couldn't help but
laugh, because its VERY brown streaked neck and breast made me think of a
miniature American Bittern.

A gust of wind quickly sent the little "bittern wannabe" back down into the
brush.

I'm pretty sure it was a Savannah because of it's dark, prominently streaked
breast and streaked head.
