I was interested to hear of the preference of BRCO for roosting on rocks and
islands. How about large buoys? There is an area in Puget Sound off
University Place that consistently has 20-50 BRCO in the winter, a pretty
good count for south Puget area. Many of these birds are often seen
roosting on a large metal buoy in the channel well off shore.
