Jack and BC/Wash/Ida Birders,

Correct, Jack, I should have said "southern interior". Pardon my
parochialism! I was momentarily forgetting Prince George, and I should
know better. During the brief year (1963-1964) that I lived in Prince
George, not knowing if there were any other birders in town, I
attempted a rudimentary Christmas Bird Count myself (I think it was
Dec. 26, 1963). I don't have my results handy, but as I recall, I
tallied only 6 species and 125 individuals-- of which 90 were Common
Redpolls. Despite having been a birder for 4 years at that point, I
saw my first-ever Common Redpolls in P.G.
I would have been flabbergasted in 1963 to learn that it was
possible to find 51 species on a CBC in Prince George. Congratulations
to your CBC team on an impressive effort, and some pretty good birds.
