Does anyone know if the hybrid jay is still being seen in Spanaway? I saw it this summer in juvenile plumage, and I'd be really interested in going to see it now that it's in basic plumage (or at least should be).

Also, is anyone in tweeterland writing up the occurrence of this hybrid for WA Birds or another journal source? As far as I can tell this is the first documented hybridization between western scrub and Steller's jay, and it would be nice to see it more fully documented in the literature.
BTW, last year was the first documented occurrence of blue jay x Florida scrub jay, so the Spanaway pair is the second occurrence of hybridization between these two genera.
