pm update.

Rare bird alert continues for the BLACK and WHITE WARBLER.

Sightings for Wednesday, December 22

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER was seen today east of the Savage & River Rd.
location near a parking area with picnic benches just west of No. 7 Rd.
The bird was in the company of a large flock of Chickadees and Kinglets.
This bird behaves very much like a Brown Creeper. Keeping this in mind
might help in locating the bird. A word of caution. This location,
depending on the time of day has considerable vehicle traffic.

A CRESTED MYNA was observed in Vancouver near the intersection of 7th and
Columbia.

The Reifel Refuge reported in with the sightings of the immature NORTHERN
GOSHAWK, a SWAMP SPARROW and a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL.

On this past weekends CBC in Whistler a record number of 56 species was
tallied. Notable finds were a WESTERN MEADOWLARK, a BOHEMIAN WAXWING and
several COMMON REDPOLLS.

Tuesday, December 21

The BLACK and WHITE WARBLER was seen on the northside of River Rd near the
intersection of Savage Rd. and River Rd. in Richmond.

Monday, December 20

A male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD has been frequenting a feeder in the 21600 block
of 148th St. in Surrey.

Another 2 ANNA'S, a male and female are coming to a feeder in the front
yard of a home on the 6900 block of Hycroft Rd. in West Vancouver. Also
seen near this location was a GOLDEN EAGLE.

A CATTLE EGRET was again reported near the intersection of Tamboline and
Westham Isl. Rd. Reported from the Reifel Refuge were an immature NORTHERN
GOSHAWK, A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL and a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON.

Sunday, December 19

The Vancouver Christmas Bird Count took place with a provisional total of
132 species. Highlights of the count were a BLACK and WHITE WARBLER seen
just East of Savage Rd. on Richmond's River Road, a GREEN HERON counted at
Deer Lake and several SNOW BUNTINGS at Iona.

A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was reported on the monthly Terra Nova bird survey in
Richmond.

Saturday, December 18

Two COMMON REDPOLLS were observed at the south end of the Iona/Sea Island
Causeway.

Friday, December 17

The adult female HOODED WARBLER near the Sechlet Airfield was heard but not
seen
