Tweeters,
I put seed out for the Harris's Sparrow first found by Jay Desgrosellier 19
December and today had the bird. I put more seed out, so it might be a good
spot for awhile.
>From the junction of Pumphouse Road and South Harrah Road (~15 miles west
of Toppenish), go north .25 mile to the gate on the right (east) side of
the gravel road. Park here and wait, using your car as a blind. The seed is
scattered along the dirt track ~ 40' east of the gate. Scads of
White-crowns, Song Sparrows, a few Golden-crowns and juncos. The weedy
field in this area has a few Lincoln's Sparrows and one American Tree
Sparrow was found nearby by Jay on the 19th.
Mud Lake just to the west has Tundra Swans
Happy Holidays!
