Greets Sweet Tweets --
Thanks to all you kind people who so quickly responded to my call for
help in finding a bird name that begins with the letter U (and a few X, Y,
and Z names too!).
I forwarded your responses on to the person in charge of naming the HP
Servers at my company. The name he select from your suggestions is: Ugiusu:
the Japanese Bush Warbler.
It was requested that I tell the bird names selected for the other
servers. The list is pretty unimaginative (in my opinion). The guy who
named them is obviously not a birder. The first three servers were names
after trees (acacia, bonzai, and cypress) and after that the person making
the decision decided to switch from trees to birds. I suppose he thought
there was a wider range of names available -- although I disagree. Follows
is what we have for the HP server names:
acacia
bonzai
cypress
dodo
eagle
falcon
gull
heron
ibis
jaybird
kiwi
loon
magpie
nitehawk
osprey
petrel
quail
robin
starling
tweetie
ugiusu
As long as I have y'all on the phone can I ask a question about the
newsgroup? I don't hear any Nays so I will.
I turned on the DIGEST option for the Tweeters newsgroup and I don't know
how to turn it off. I looked at the FAQ. I see how to turn it on but not
off. I would rather go back to individual emails instead of the once a day
option. Can anyone help with this?
Again, I thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. Too bad the guy
naming the servers did not ask for my help earlier. We could have had a
naming competition on Tweeters. Sigh.
